Mickey's ToonTown USA

While visiting Disneyland, we spent a large portion of our time in Mickey's ToonTown. This is truely a place for children, in particular small children. Daddy got a breather here, able to sit down and unwind (sigh of relief....). All we had to do was follow them from one place to the next.

The first place the girls wanted to go was Minnie's House (sorry Mickey!). The line was a little long, so we convinced then to go visit Mickey instead. Amazingly, they just sipped right on through his house. They just wanted to go see him. When we finally got to see him in his dressing room, they could barely wait for their turn to have their picture taken with Mickey. The same was true when we went to Minnie's house right after Mickey's. The difference here was they they fully enjoyed interacting with all the buttons and knobs in Minnie's house. Definitely a hit with the kids.

Another part of ToonTown the Samantha and Kristina enjoyed was all the ACME Co. gadgets and gags through out the town. There were cartoonish cars and trucks like the Fire Engine, some weights through a window, and the ever popular phony jail bars. Additionally, the kids had a wonderful time in Goofy's bounce house. Everything here was oversized and made of inflated rubber, making the entire room a giant multi-level trampoline. One time through Samantha and Kristina had the entire house to themselves and bounced themselves silly.

Now, a goldmine of place in ToonTown is Chip 'n dale Treehouse and Acorn Crawl. The kids are able to climb up through a small tree house, down and back around again. Loads of fun for them. And then they can enter Chip 'n Dale's treasure of acorns: a giant ball pit, where the balls are shaped like acorns. I think their faces (or lack there of) tell it all. They loved jumping in and out, burying themselves to the point of disappear. I think McDonald's Playlands have finally met their match.

Roger Rabbits Car Toon Spin Last but not least in this land of caricatures, was about the only thing that might be of interest to an adult, Roger Rabit's Car Toon Spin. It was interesting, but you had to be careful. If you weren't holding the stearing while tightly, it jerked out of your hands. Samantha seemed to injoy the ride, where as Kristina was a bit put off. Too many strobe lights for her I think.
