Ixtapa and Zihuatanejo Mexico

Welcome to my vacation. This year I chose to visit the little resort area encompassing Ixatap and Zihuatanejo Mexico. According to Fodor's "this is one of the most appealing of the Pacific Coast destinations. It offers visitors a taste of both Mexicon present and past. Ixtapa (pronounced eeks-tah-pa), where most Americans stay -- probably because they can't pronounce Zihuatanejo (see-wha-tah-nay-ho) -- is young and glitzy. Exclusively a vacation resort, it was created in the early 1970's by Fonatur, Mexico's National Fund for Tourism Development, which also brought us Cancun. World-class hotels cluster in the Hotel Zone around Palmar Bay, where conditions are ideal for swimming and water sports; across the road are clusters of shopping plazas. There's always plenty of room on the beach, which is lighted for scrolling at night; and the pace is leisurely."
