Japan May 2001: Andrew finally makes it to Japan on Vacation

        Vacation in Japan

        The Adventure of a Lifetime
        May 12-22, 2001

First of all, I would like to thank all the wonderful people and organizations that helped make my trip to Japan such a wonderful experience. My gratitude could not be covered briefly, so I have prepared some special pages to thank My Hosts.

How do I begin to describe this wonderful adventure? Maybe I ought to start with a little history first...

For the long version, click here!

As for the short version...As a young boy, I became best friends with a Japanese-American boy in school. Through our friendship, I gained an almost obssesive interest in anything to do with the Japanese culture. At about the age of 15, I got this idea in my head to come up with a list of things I would like to happen to me by the age of 40. One of which was to actually visit Japan. Guess what! I'm now 40 and as luck would have it, everything fell into place for me to finally make a wish come true.

Below you will find a map of Japan. Simply click on anything in Red and you will be able to see and read about the all the wonderful things I was able to see and learn about while on this adventure.

Just a warning. I took over 1000 digital photos. All the pictures are in a slideshow format (trying something new) but in some places I went a little crazy with the number of photos. I am currently working on reducing them to a smaller, "most interesting" set, but it's hard not to want to share all the things I saw.
